Трир — немецкий город в земле Рейнланд-Пфальц, “Северный Рим”, старейший город Германии. Основан в 15 году до н. э. римским императором Октавианом Августом рядом со святилищем племени треверов, откуда и произошло название города — “Августа Треверская”. Расположен на западе земли Рейнланд-Пфальц.
