The awakening of the old sycamore tree Pictorial art 3 / 4 3

vvswan68 – The awakening of the old sycamore tree
This painting shows an old sycamore tree in the deep evening of early spring. Its trimmed, gnarly branches reach upwards like giant fingers. From these branches there are delicate, thin green shoots adorned with small, fresh green leaves. The darkening sky creates a background of deep, rich blue, which gives the painting a dramatic contrast with the earthy brown colours of the tree trunk and the bright green of the new growth.
The author uses textured strokes to define the rough bark of the tree, while the finer lines of the sprouts suggest movement and renewal. The composition conveys a sense of vitality and rebirth, as if the tree is awakening to life after winter, even though its branches have been disfigured by pruning. This sycamore tree is releasing new graceful branches from its gnarled toes, and these branches are reaching upwards. The author seeks to emphasise how new life arises in the spring, and how the previous generation gives up its strength to continue in it.
The painting can be hung on the wall without a frame, as the image is continued on the ends.
