This drawing with oil pastel on carton captures another view at the Abramtsevo estate near Moscow. Here the viewer sees again the Church of the Saviour of the Uncreated Image, but from the other side - from behind. On that day, the lighting assumed work from this side. The roof, walls and dark metal dome also stand out against the background of the tree crowns, but they have acquired new shades that combine in a different way with the greenery of the summer foliage. The foliage itself has acquired new shades of green, which gives the picture more of light. It penetrates between the branches and scatters bright spots on the grass. Nearby, a narrow path is visible, which gently bends and leads the viewer to the building. The trees create contrasting vertical lines, creating the depth of the scene, their dark trunks contrasting with the bright spots of light. At the moment when the author was working on this sketch, beautiful songs were heard from somewhere, sung by a chorus of girls. The songs were not only church songs, but many were also in other Slavic languages. This gave the whole composition a certain peculiarity, fullness not only of color and light, but also of sound.
