She walks through this mechanical noise, through this space where everything fulfills its purpose. There are automaton people, function people, mechanism people, just automata and mechanisms. There is no place for those who are not involved in one big process. Invisible gazes follow her – as if countless sensors track her movement. She enters a cone of bright light, picks up a violin, and the first chords pierce through the business noise and hum. At that moment, she gathered all the courage she had found in her fragile body, overcame the treacherous trembling in her hands and the chilling fear of thousands of indicator eyes that were trying to determine her place here. Her melody rushes up, filling the cone of light, and splashes across these workshops, desks and offices. She breaks the invisible chains that bind everyone into one unit. I think it’s Paganini’s Caprice No. 24. The gloomy sky, smoked by factory pipes, recoiled in fright from this unusual sound. And the melody fills the whole space, stopping the mechanisms, stopping the buzzing of computers. She’s too weak to withstand this perfection of metal and figures. But her music is so strong that even the huge gears have stopped so as their screeching not to interfere with her. At that moment, this whole rational, orderly factory (life), with all its power and precision, held its breath, listening to the ringing sound of the violin. The perspective directs the viewer’s gaze along the converging paths and cables to the illuminated figure, emphasizing the privacy of creativity among the machines. The painting invites you to reflect on how brave a young creator should be when entering this world, where he will have to constantly fight for the right to create and be a spiritual person.
