Before you there is another example of a small rebellion against convention - a classical scene boldly smeared on a humble pizza box. Marble columns rise defiantly beneath a bright blue sky, while the soft, earthy tones of old brick buildings peek through in the centre. What makes this work even more delightful is its non-apologetic choice of canvas: the familiar font of the word ‘pizza’ cuts across the scene, playfully reminding us of the intrusion of modern life into antiquity.
