The painting captures the soul of a timeless European street in Rouen, where history is preserved in stone from era to era. The scene unfolds under a radiant blue sky. It is flooded with golden sunlight that brightly illuminates one side of the narrow street. At the very centre of the composition is a magnificent golden clock adorning an ancient arch - an emblem of time, forever following the rhythm of the city. This is the famous Rouen Gros-Horloge, a jewel of medieval craftsmanship. On the cobbled figurines of people strolling at a leisurely pace, and their presence breathes life into this picture. This narrow street has seen a lot and now we see how eras have met on it. To the left is the triumph of the half-timbered style, and across from it, neoclassical buildings stand in an even formation. And between them, separating and connecting, stands the famous tower with its Renaissance arch and clock. Shadows stretch and dance along the sunlit facades, deepening the perspective of the painting and giving it a calm depth. The artist’s brush weaves a tapestry of light and colour, inviting the viewer to step into this serene moment where past and present exist in perfect harmony. In this work, the author has applied a specific technique - thin vertical strokes, like long strokes, they create relief and a flowing effect. The painting can be hung on the wall without a frame; the image is continued on the ends.
