Willows on the Vorya shore Pictorial art 16 / 20 2

vvswan68 – Willows on the Vorya shore
In the painting, the artist depicted a peaceful landscape on the bank of the Vorya River in Abramtsevo.
Another study of reflections - he often returns to this quiet river and its backwaters. This time the light was softer, diffused, almost silvery. The willows on the bank slope gently towards the water, their pale green crowns catching the light scattered by the clouds. The sun occasionally breaks through the cloud cover and illuminates the glades in the plan behind the line of willows, creating a play of shadows and light. The author depicts the fresh greenery of early summer, using many shades of green. The reflection in the water carries the basis of the composition. The sky - fractured, a little anxious - is created with quick, broad strokes; their contours are not smoothed to show the mobility and changeability of clouds. The water picks up everything, distorting it slightly, just enough to keep it alive. The reflection is riddled with bands of aquatic vegetation that complete the scene. There is no strong focal point here - it’s all about the rhythm of the trees and the calmness of the scene. It’s a casual scene by the river that easily and simply invites the viewer to stand on the bank and relax.
This work is included in the author’s series of paintings, “Rivers and Lakes”.
